The Bulverde Spring Branch Activity Center is about men and women working together toward a common goal; creating a place that enhances the lives of seniors through programs involving education, exercise, social activities, health and communities service in an environment that provides opportunities for seniors to remain active and self-sufficient.
We are a non-profit organization, receiving no federal, state or local government funding. Our center is supported entirely through private donation from foundations, local businesses and individuals. We succeed through the support of many volunteers that give their time and talents.
Volunteering improves the lives of others and makes the community a better place. When you put in volunteer work, you make a positive impact on your community – and that makes it a better place for everyone.
Volunteering helps you develop close relationships with others. People who come together to make the world better place forge close connections. In fact, volunteering is a wonderful family, workplace and couple’s activity.
Volunteering reduces stress and boosts your mental health. Volunteering takes our minds off our own problems and helps you feel happier and less anxious.
Volunteering can help you live longer. According to recent research, seniors who continue to volunteer in their golden years are healthier and live longer than their peers. The reason: volunteering gives us a sense of purpose – a reason to get up and out the door in the morning.
