The senior population in Comal County is growing, and the ones who worked hard so we could get ahead in life, frequently find themselves in need of basic living services such as home-delivered meals, socialization programs and transportation. Many of these community residents live in rural areas where resources and services are difficult to find and where lack of socialization often leads to social isolation, declining health and depression.
The BSBAC serves approximately 1,000 seniors annually. We encourage and facilitate independent living through Health & Wellness Programs, Social Activities, Community Service and Outreach, Nutritional Programs (including Meals on Wheels), and Transportation Services. Our vision for the next five years is to identify and address unmet needs of seniors in our community, expand our facility and programming and reduce our need for outside funding. We wish to update our gym with wheelchair accessible equipment. We are also researching options in providing hourly respite care for seniors with Alzheimer’s or other debilitating condition.
Please help us continue our mission of facilitating active aging and enhancing the quality of life for older adults in our communities!
